ACES-N: Building on a Legacy of Empowerment and Transformation

Discover the story behind The Academic, Coaching, Enrichment, & Sports (ACES) Network, a comprehensive hub for Positive & Sports-based Youth Development, Community, Organizational & Leadership Development Consulting, and The Sporting Chance Programs & Services. Our founder, Dr. Thomas, was inspired by his mother's tireless efforts to uplift young people in the Hunting Park section of North Philadelphia. Despite facing significant resource shortages, Mrs. Alberta T. Davis (supported by her husband, Charles P. Davis) demonstrated unwavering commitment to area youth, created programs that prevented risky behaviors and boosted the self-esteem and morale of the neighborhood's youth, and created a legacy of giving and support that laid the foundation for Dr. Thomas' early and continuing learning, provided a framework for community development, and continues through generations of individual and families who, if not for Ms. Alberta, may have succumbed to challenges of drug addiction, street violence, crime or many other ills of society. Ms. Alberta instilled the vision of leadership and legacy that Dr. Thomas has used to impact leaders around the world.
